QPA, or Quality Point Average, is a calculation that measures a student's academic achievement by averaging the quality points earned per credit hour.
To calculate a Carnegie Mellon University QPA, multiply the credit hours for each course by the quality point value for its grade to get the quality points for that course. Then, add up the total quality points from all courses and divide by the total number of credit hours attempted in those courses.
The formula is: QPA = (Total Quality Points) / (Total Credit Hours)
